About

Offering a valuable and user-friendly resource for families and teachers seeking ideas to create playful routines that support the neuropsychological growth of their children or students. We aim to help nurture social habits and independence.

Our Clients

This work served as my culminating project for my UX-UI graduation. I was solely responsible for every decision and the sole designer behind the app's creation.

Challenge

Families with children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often require resources to help stimulate their kids in various aspects of neurodevelopment on a daily basis. While there are numerous online resources offering home-based activities, finding them quickly and determining their reliability can be challenging. Currently, there are only apps for augmentative communication or screen-based activities, which don't promote interaction with others. There's a need for a platform that consolidates and categorizes these resources based on developmental domains, while also guiding families in establishing daily play routines.

Results

After dedicating considerable time to this project, I found the results to be satisfactory, but there's ample room for improvement. This ongoing work has provided me with valuable insights into how UX can enhance user experiences. To achieve satisfying results, it's essential to understand both the 'how' and, based on my learning curve, the 'what.' Throughout the project, some aspects of CONTEA's design came together smoothly, while others presented more significant challenges. For instance, despite the time invested, certain areas, like the interviews, left me less satisfied. This experience has taught me the importance of allocating more time and expanding the range of interviewees to validate ideas, identify pain points, and uncover opportunities for improvement. It's not just the interviews that could have benefited from more time; other stages in the development process required it too. I don't see CONTEA as a finished project, concluding merely with a final presentation. Currently, it's on hold, and I look forward to dedicating time to its further development and iterative tasks in the future.
